Guided by a vision of a just, caring, and sustainable world, our mission is tosave lives, alleviate poverty, and empower communities in line with the core humanitarian principles of humanity,impartiality, neutrality, and independence.Position OverviewThe Value Chain Officer will play a central role in designing, implementing, and monitoring livelihood andincome-generating activities (IGAs) for widow- and orphan-led households in Baidoa. The officer will ensurethat market-driven approaches, financial literacy, and group-based savings mechanisms are effectivelyintegrated into the project, enabling sustainable household income and resilience beyond the project’sduration.Main Responsibilities Conduct value chain and market assessments to identify viable IGAs (petty trade, tailoring, livestockrearing, food processing, mobile repair, etc.). Support beneficiary group formation (Self-Help Groups) and strengthen their capacity in savings,financial literacy, and collective decision-making. Facilitate skills-oriented trainings in collaboration with line ministries and technical experts (e.g.,animal husbandry, tailoring, small business management). Oversee the distribution of productive assets and interest-free start-up capital, ensuringtransparent and accountable revolving fund management. Establish market linkages and value chain development support for targeted households,connecting them to suppliers, buyers, and service providers. Provide mentorship and coaching to beneficiaries on business planning, savings mobilization, andentrepreneurship.Job AdvertisementVer.Mar.2026Job Title: Value Chain OfficerLocation: Baidoa District, Bay Region, SomaliaContract period: 20 months (with possibility of extension based on performance andfunding)Work Arrangements On SiteSalary Range: $1000.Closing Date: 31st March 2026Ver.Mar.2026 Monitor and evaluate IGAs, documenting lessons learned and success stories for replication andscaling. Collaborate with community elders, women’s committees, and local authorities to ensure alignmentwith local development priorities. Contribute to project reporting, donor communication, and evidence-based advocacy for sustainablelivelihood modelsNB: Employee duties are not limited only to the above-mentioned responsibilities; they may perform other duties asassigned
